In Welcome to the Forum
Welcome to Lulu's Thyme and Essentials Forum. Have a question? Feel free to leave a comment or ask a question. Ask the Herbalist Ashwagandha is one of my favorites. I take it anytime I start to feel "stressed out". It's in a group called adaptogens. Merriam-Webster defines an adaptogen as: a nontoxic substance and especially a plant extract that is held to increase the body's ability to resist the damaging effects of stress and promote or restore normal physiological functioning. Some signs of stress can be headaches, anxiety, overeating, difficulty concentrating, muscle pain, chest pain, palpitations, lack of energy, and feeling overwhelmed. These signs can really signal a lot of issues. Trying to figure out if an adaptogen is good for you means you need to figure out the cause of any signs you are having. I am a nurse, I would always recommend seeing your health care professional. For me, I knew what was causing my signs. Lulu taught me about adaptogens and I have been a fan ever since.
